Your weekly rhythm: the numbers you can control
You cannot control the market or who says yes. You can control how many useful conversations you have.
New distributors often measure only the result: how much AUM, how many SIPs. Those numbers move slowly, and watching them alone is discouraging. The numbers you control are activities: how many conversations you start, how many meetings you hold, how many notes you send on time.
A simple funnel
Every practice runs on a funnel: conversations lead to meetings, meetings lead to clients. Your own ratios will differ, and they change as you improve. Track them for a few months and you will know what a week of effort produces.
| Useful conversations started a week | 15 |
| Become first meetings | 5 (about 1 in 3) |
| Become new clients | 2 (about 2 in 5) |
| New clients in a year at this pace | About 40 to 100, depending on your ratios |
Read the last row carefully. It does not say you will earn anything. It says that steady, honest activity reaches a hundred clients in about a year at these illustrative ratios. Some weeks will be zero. Some months will be strong. The rhythm matters more than any single week.
A week that works
- Two mornings for conversations: your warm list, referrals, niche groups.
- Two evenings or weekend slots for meetings, when salaried clients are free.
- One hour daily for notes, KYC help and follow-ups from the tracker.
- One hour a week for learning: a chapter, a CPE topic or a new explainer for your niche.
- Review days for existing clients, because service is what earns referrals.
Remember
- Measure the activities you control: conversations, meetings and notes sent on time.
- Track your own funnel ratios for a few months; they tell you what a week of effort produces.
- At illustrative ratios, steady activity reaches about a hundred clients in a year. That is not an income promise.
- Never trade suitability for volume.
